TURN AND HAZARD INDICATOR ALARM
Purpose
The turn and hazard indicator alarm notifies the driver that a turn light or the hazard warning lights are flashing.
Functions
When the instrument cluster receives a turn signal/hazard warning indicator signal sent from the BCM via the CAN communication, it activates the turn and hazard indicator alarm simultaneously with the turning on/off of the turn signal/hazard warning indicator lights.
The turn and hazard indicator alarm is activated in the pattern shown in the figure.
Sound frequency (Hz) |
Turn signal/hazard warning indicator lights turn off to on: 1,400 Turn signal/hazard warning indicator lights turn on to off: 1,300 |
Wave pattern |
Construction
The turn and hazard indicator alarm is activated using the buzzer built into the instrument cluster.
Operation
1. The instrument cluster receives (1) a turn signal/hazard warning indicator signal via CAN communication from the BCM.
2. The instrument cluster turns the transistor on (2) based on the turn signal/hazard warning indicator signal.
3. When the transistor turns on, a ground circuit with the turn and hazard indicator alarm is established and the turn and hazard indicator alarm is activated (3).
