AMBIENT TEMPERATURE DISPLAY

Purpose

  • The ambient temperature display notifies the driver of the ambient temperature.

Functions

  • The instrument cluster displays the ambient temperature based on the ambient temperature signal sent from the PCM via CAN communication.

  • The ambient temperature is displayed within -40—70°C {-40—158°F}. -40°C {-40°F} is displayed if the ambient temperature is -40°C {-40°F} or less, 70°C {158°F} is displayed if 70°C {158°F} or more.

Construction

  • The ambient temperature is displayed on the LCD in the instrument cluster.

Operation

1. When the instrument cluster receives (1) an ambient temperature signal from the PCM while the ignition is switched ON (engine off or on), it displays (2) the ambient temperature in the LCD.
